FAQ

The tournament is traditionally held in the Fall of each year.

EPC team players players compete in two man teams in a scramble format. Play is straight up with no handicapping. The team with the lowest total for 3 twosomes is the winner. Teams 4 or 5 twosomes drop their highest scores. Teams with 5 twosomes can drop 2 team scores. Team with 4 twosomes can drop 1 score. Teams with 3 twosomes cannot drop a score. No players can hit twice. The USGA Rules of Golf apply.

The Houston Engineering Contractors Golf Tournament is not sponsored by any of the EPC companies. The tournament is organized and managed by volunteers similar to the Houston Livestock and Rodeo.

The HECGT Trophy goes to the winning team each year. Similar to the Stanley Cup, the winning team gets to keep the trophy for the year. The winning team is required to return the trophy to the HECGT Tournament the following year.

The tournament is planned and coordinated with volunteers. No EPC company is involved. Everyone pays their own entry fee.
